Pet Fest 2026
This event is brought to you by Acland Village Traders.
Pet Fest is all about celebrating pets and their owners on Sat, August 15 between 11am – 3pm, in O’Donnell Gardens, St Kilda – whether it be fur, fins, scales and more!
Join us for a fun day of demonstration, education, products and services including:
- A free photo of your pet with pet photographer, TD Pet Studio
- Dog training tip and demonstrations with My Pet Tutor
- Agility & trick dog & with Melbourne Canine Freestyle – a demonstration team with performances all across Australia. Well-known as the “Purple People”, their team consists of various breeds of dogs. They love bringing smiles to people’s faces by performing, training, and most importantly having fun with their dogs!
- Open agility course to try with your dog
- Butterfly enclosure to enjoy interacting with live, colourful butterflies
- Meet and chat to the beekeepers, the pengiun carers and other amazing animal folk (unfortunately our llama folks are not making the event now)

| 11.20am – 11.40am | Who can beat the dogs at agility? Kids can join in the fun and race against the dogs to see who wins! Then try with your dog too! |

| 12.40pm – 1pm | See the Melbourne Canine Freestyle dogs perform some amazing tricks – we will show you how we trained the dogs, then with the help of our trainers, you can try with your pet too! |

Earthcare St Kilda & the Penguins
Come and learn about the incredible little penguins that call St Kilda home. Our colony of around 1,400 penguins is one of the largest urban colonies in the world, and we’re passionate about protecting them and the environment they rely on. Chat with our volunteers about conservation, clean‑ups, habitat restoration, citizen science and the many ways you can get involved. You can also buy merchandise, with every purchase supporting our volunteer‑led efforts. Whether you want to volunteer, support local wildlife or simply learn more, we’d love to meet you!

Forever Friends Animal Rescue
Founded in 2011, we are a registered charity run entirely by volunteers that rescues and rehabilitates the most vulnerable animals in our community – the abandoned, abused, elderly and sick. From dogs and cats to rabbits, former racehorses and farmed animals, our 700+ strong volunteer team works tirelessly, seven days a week, to save lives. We raise funds to support these animals selling mostly homemade items such has beanies, scarves, knitted cat toys, blankets, dog bandanas, tug toys and then some other merch like forever friends stubby holders and pins

My Pet Tutor
I am a registered vet nurse and animal behaviourist. I work with all pets, but specialise in puppies. I offer puppy classes, behaviour consultations, and in-home training. I also provide home nail trims and basic grooming, help with administering medication, assist pets in becoming comfortable with vet visits, and offer guidance on selecting and setting up for new pets. Come and see me for tips and advice!
